Purchasing and Distribution Manager

An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Purchasing and Distribution Manager who is looking to take on a new challenge. If you have 3+ years of experience within a purchasing role, and have a proven track record in driving down supplier pricing, and negotiation, this could be the role for you.

Our client is a leading industrial tooling business with a national presence, and fantastic products and service. They are highly regarded as a preferred supplier to many industrial manufacturing and construction related organisations across Australia. 

In this role, you will work closely with the Shipping Officer to effectively manage the smooth operation of the Purchasing, Shipping, and Warehousing/Logistics Department and you will effectively manage stock levels for all warehouses across the country.

Responsibilities:

• Supplier pricing and contract negotiation

• Facilitating monthly stock takes nationally whilst investigating stock variances

• Monitoring stock levels in all branches

• Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding additional stock requirements, stock shortages and expected delivery schedules

• Liaise with external suppliers in regarding to any quality control issues

• Process claims against suppliers and supplier invoices for payment

• Provide quotations, process invoices and prepare shipping invoices

• Management reporting

• Supervising warehouse staff 

Skills/Experience Required:
