Transport Co-orndinator / Supervisor

A leader in Waste Management, our client currently seeks and experienced Transport Coordinator (Driver Supervisor) for its Northern Beaches Site. 

In this busy and fast paced environment you will enjoy ongoing support and training in an excellent team environment. Role will be best suited to candidates who have experience in all aspects of transport planning. High attention to detail will be the key to success in this position.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Daily planning and scheduling of kerb-side collections throughout the Northern Beaches area.

Supervision of the team of drivers. 

Liaising with customers and drivers to ensure high level of customer service is maintained

Weekly/monthly reporting on transport results

Processing of incident and fatigue management reports

Successful candidate will have:

Previous transport coordination and supervisory experience

High attention to detail and excellent time management skills

Basic to Intermediate computer skills

Solid knowledge of the Northern Beaches road networks and suburbs

Understanding of OH&S principles and practices

Good communication skills

The Role

Reporting to the operations manager you will be responsible for the overall smooth running of the transport department, running a fleet of 50+ trucks and managing 80+ staff based in Fremantle.

You will have a sound knowledge of road transport legislation and also extensive ports/wharf experience. This is a hands on role, so it's vital that the successful candidate is prepared to get their hands dirty and help out as and when required.

Managing the depots P&L, candidates must have a sound knowledge of cost controlling and budgets with the ability to get reports to senior management in a timely manner.

Key Skills

Experience of managing large teams of logistic and back office staff

Ports & Wharf experience
